Who needs a Virtual Community?
Keeping up to speed with the latest technological aids, tools and thinking helps you to stay connected with the changing world. Equally important, however, is to learn about the deeper underlying values and principles of life and stay connected with those. They are not new or foreign to us but are easily eroded and discredited by the pace, noise and triviality of modern society.
You can read books, listen to CDs and go to seminars, but these have benefit only for a limited period. All the ideas you learn need constant reinforcement and opportunities for application.
Jim Rohn says "The universal stories of our mythologies contain two kinds of people. Some are Examples of good practice and others are Warnings of poor practice. If you ever get to be written about make sure it is as an Example not a Warning."
How do I do it as a Member of Positive Input?
There are five proven ways learn:
- Read or listen
- Accept guidance
- Work with another to look within
- Help others to learn and teach yourself
- Apply what you are learning in your life
The way to stay connected with values is to be part of a community of like minded people with similar views and values. In former times people stayed connected to their values by going to a church or similar group regularly.
Unfortunately most churches are associated with out-of-date and corrupted religions which have lost connection with the intentions and values of their founders.
It is no longer necessary to be part of community who go regularly to ‘places of worship’ on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. With our modern technology we can contribute to and receive from a community in less formal ways.
