Why so many people can’t lose weight?
We have today more overweight and obese people in our society than ever before. Most of them would like to be at a normal weight for their size, or at least say they would.
Many people torture themselves with different diets looking for the perfect one which will cause the pounds to roll off. Mostly they are disappointed or are driven off the diet by the side effects.
That is not to say that those diets don’t work. They do work for some people in some circumstances or they wouldn’t have come to public attention.
The problem is that our body weight is far from the result of what just we eat today. If you check the current diet of many fat people, they often don’t eat all that much.
Whatever our body is today is a result of what we have put into it, one way or another. Because we consume so many different things over a long period that it is difficult to remember or be sure what would have caused what effect.
Suppose you decide today that you are not happy with your body health, weight and condition. It is not going to be easy to know where to start.
Our bodies need time to change. We are not going to move from where we are now to a vision of healthy beauty in a week but with care and patience miracles are possible!
We do not have the luxury of starting with a clean sheet. We are dealing with a body condition that it has taken decades to achieve.
What is more, you may have a doubting mind, a busy life and a skeptical family. None of these are likely to be sympathetic to a miraculous improvement in your body condition.
To bring about a reduction in body weight requires addressing a number of areas. Here are a few:
1. What food we eat, how much and when.
The biggest myth is that if we don’t eat we lose weight. If we are forcibly put on a starvation diet, we won’t lose weight until our body has exhausted its many strategies for keeping us going without food. No one would voluntarily put themselves through that and would also damage other functioning parts of their body.
A much better approach is to change our normal diet to something that will win the cooperation of our body and be tolerable for us.
2. What we drink
Our bodies are food processing engines and like most engines they require fluid for all sorts of functions. The best of these is pure water.
3. What else we consume
Good and less good!
4. What exercise we do
5. Our state of mind at the time
6. Our self-image/belief/esteem
7. Our body condition
8. Our body history
We are working with a number of experts and specialists in this field to produce a book on the topic of weight loss to enable people to work their way through the complex web of factors that are needed to be successful in achieving weight the loss they want.
This will be serialised and provided free to Members of Positive Input.
